10 year old girls are absolute spoiled for choice when it
comes to board games. They can play both kids games and adult games and are
able to read and interpret the rules more easily than younger kids. For this
reason the list for 10 year old girls is larger hold a more diverse list of
games to play. Girls who like more of a challenge I highly recommend trying
Ticket to ride or Settlers of Catan. For those who want to play a more casual
game I would go for exploding kittens or love letter.
Takenoko
Number of Players: 2-4
Time: 45 minutes
Pricing: High
Takenoko is
a fun Japanese inspired game where players are trying to be the first to
complete 7 objective cards. Takenoko is a great game for 10 year old girls as
the game play is intuitive and great for building upon strategy skills and
resource management, all with a really fun art style. Despite its admittedly
more ‘feminine’ appearance Takenoko is actually a personal favorite of mine as
the art style reminds me of stylized anime from the 2000s. I highly recommend this
game for girls and adult men alike.

Sequence
Number of Players: 2-12
Time: 30 minutes
Pricing: Medium
Sequence is a strategy based board game where you want to
place your marker 5 in a row, similar to connect 4 but more complex. When you
play with more than two players you form 2 or 3 teams with the end goal being
to create sequences before the others. This is a great game to play as a family
as the parents and kids can team up and makes the game play feel fairer. The
strategies can get a little advanced but is also a great way to push 8 year
olds to be more strategic in games.

Clue
(Cluedo)
Number of Players: 3-6
Time: 45 minutes
Pricing: Medium
Clue (Cluedo outside America) is a classic board game about
solving the murder of Mr. Black in his mansion. You play as one of 6 characters
who collect clues by visiting rooms and making accusations. This was one of my
favourite board games as a child and I believe that the game still holds up to
this day. There has been many editions and additions to the base game but the
core concept and rules remain the same. Would highly recommend this game for
any 10 year old girls.

destination tickets as you can before you or someone else runs out of trains.
This is a great game for the whole family to play as its more mature art style
and rules make it just as fun for adults to play with the older kids. This game
is great for 10 year old girsl who love board games especially as it requires
more strategic thinking from its players than other games on this list.

Settlers of
Catan
Number of Players: 3-4
Time: 60 minutes
Pricing: Medium
Settlers of
Catan is the classic board game that almost everyone who plays board games has
played at one point or another. It is for this reason that I feel it is a great
game to play with 10 year old girls as it’s a classic that holds up incredibly
well to this day. It’s a chance calculating, resource management, negotiation
game where the aim is to be the first player to get to 10 points. Catan is a
great staple of all board games collections and is sure to be a hit with any 10
year old.

Jungle
Speed
Number of Players: 2-10
Time: 15 minutes
Pricing: Medium
Jungle
speed is a speed based party game where the aim of the game is to swipe the
totem when your card matches an opponent’s. Jungle Speed is a great party game
as its easy rules make it easy to learn and play. The real challenge comes from
being able to spot the matching symbol before your opponent which can be hard
to do especially with larger player counts. Definitely a great present idea for
a 10 year old who likes speed based games.

Anomia is a
fast paced word association game that is great for family gatherings. The box
advises it’s for kids aged 10 and up but any 9 year old who is good at thinking
fast on their feet will do well in this game. Speed is really the name of the
game here when two players have matching symbols on their cards they have a
duel to try and name something from the subject of each other’s card. Great
