There are some fantastic board games for girls around the age of 6. The list below comprises the favorites from my own 6 year old niece plus some personal favorites of mine to play with her and the family. If you are looking to get a fun board game as a gift then I hope this list will provide some great gift inspiration for 6 year old girls.
Ticket to ride First Journey
Number of Players: 2-4
Time: 15-30 min
Ticket to Ride: first journey is the kid adaption of a popular European style board game called ticket to ride. This game differs from the original with a smaller map and a faster game time. This is a great game for any 6 year old girl who loves trains and is a great way to start teaching them about geography. I personally love the ticket to ride series and see this as a great Segway to kids into the more serious board games when they are older.

Guess Who? is a game where two players try to guess each other’s chosen character based of asking simple yes or no questions. This is a fairly simple game, great for young kids, and is fairly quick to play. Guess Who? It’s great for teaching kids colours, facial recognition, and basic deductive reasoning. Guess Who is a stable of children’s board games and still holds up to this day.

Don’t Step in It
Number of Players: 1+ (4-6 Players seems to work best)

Don’t let the name fool you, Don’t step in it is a great game for kids to play at birthday parties. It involves the kids taking turns to walk on top of a mat covered in fake poo to try and get to the end. The rules are fairly self-explanatory and kids of all ages can play together. Would definitely recommend as a gift for a a kid around the ages of 5 and under.

Connect 4 is a great two player game that two kids can play together. The name encompasses the basic idea of the game as two opponents try to be the first to connect 4 disks of their color together before the other player. Its fairly inexpensive and is a game that most kids can pick up easily.
